PROJECT BRIEF:
Work with the phrase 'and then I woke up...'; create a project based on this.
Result: Exhibition to raise awareness about dementia. Putting you in their shoes.
The maze

THE MAZE
The exhibition revolves around a maze which represents someone’s mind with dementia. You are tasked to figure out who this fictional person is: who are they and what are they about?
The maze

THE MAZE
Inside the maze you will start in the centre. It will feature notes, items and photos of this persons life. You have a minute to remember as much as you can.

THE MAZE
You will then be sent out into the maze where you will be asked questions and have to solve problems.
If you get the answer right you will be one step closer to finishing. If you get it wrong you will be sent round in a circle.

THE MAZE
Throughout the maze imagery will be featured. However, the imagery will be altered now and again to try and confuse you in the sense of deterioration in memory. This endeavours to mimic one way dementia affects the mind.
TICKETS

PAPER TICKET
The paper ticket for the exhibition features the fictional character and the QR code.
The objective for the ticket is for it to be as simple as possible, only showing important information such as where and when.
E-TICKETS

THE MAZE
The mobile ticket starts with an image which will feature the exhibition. Once you scan your ticket on entry the image will fade away till it is red.
The idea behind this image is that it cannot help you anymore once you have entered.
POsters

POSTERS
Pre-launch posters will use similar methods for remembering dates that people with dementia use; post-it notes and biro marks on the hand.
Promotion

POSTERS
Promotional posters will be put up to raise awareness about the exhibition.
These posters are different to the above as they reveal more about the exhibition and what it may contain.
OUTside

THE EVENT
Outside the exhibition you will see imagery relating to the objective.
External imagery will help you on your journey around the maze whilst you try to find out who this fictional person is.
Interactive

INTERACTIVE
Promoting the exhibition will be achieved by a series of interactive posters. These will feature images that will change to a question.
The question will ask you about the image which was previously shown.
The idea is to give a preview of the exhibition aiming at catching your interest in the subject and make you want to find out more.
